What’s New on Irth? Web Experience and Tech Update
At the Irth User Summit Rod Ball, our CTO, took attendees on a tour of Irth’s recent design updates and new software features. We’ve made user experience improvements to Irth Training (Coursettra), Irth Digtix, and Utilisphere, which will help your team members develop their skills and perform tasks in the field.
Irth Training Features
In 2022, Irth Training debuted My Training, My Account, and My Achievements, which all help trainees keep better track of their course progress and certifications. In 2023, we followed that up with an overhauled quiz and survey experience, including a progress bar, question-by-question feedback, and more flexibility when skipping and returning to questions. We then updated the admin side with improved search capabilities and handy dashboards that make tracking your team’s training progress easy. Finally, My Certifications “go widget” allows users to track their certifications and even take training courses within the Irth app.
Irth DigTix Design Advancements
The Irth team has been collecting loads of customer feedback about Irth Digtix workflows and ease of use to vastly improve the overall interface. Upcoming improvements include:
- Responsive design to make the app look as good on a phone as it does on a tablet or laptop
- Offline mode allows users to continue working even if they get disconnected
- The ability to remember where users left off so they can quickly resume whatever they were working on most recently
- Direct links to tickets and work items that are easy to copy and share with teammates
- Real-time collaboration features, such as the ability to see who else is looking at a ticket
- Overall, it has a faster interface; buttons and menus are more responsive and screens load more quickly
We’re making several changes with fieldwork in mind, including:
- More intuitive navigation and search functionality
- Useful data visualizations
- Time tracking for activities such as driving and on-site work
- Bulk editing so techs can close out multiple items at once
Irth Digtix’s powerful new automatic billing configurations will mean that techs can record their activities without figuring out how to bill them. Also, techs can create their own routes using intelligent ticket recommendations and easily adjust those routes when emergencies happen.
On the office side, auditing will be streamlined, and users will be able to easily define geographical areas to be used throughout the application. Administrators will be able to configure users, close codes, and bill in bulk. It will also be easier to schedule assignments and determine whether a particular item needs to be dispatched.
Utilisphere is Changing Its Name — and a Lot More
The first thing you’ll notice about Utilisphere is the name. Slowly we have been evolving our flagship product to be “Irth.” But that’s just one of many updates to the application.
- The Irth home screen will feature a sleek new dashboard view that gives techs quick and easy access to important information like assigned items, emergency tickets, and weather conditions in their service area. Time tracking will be easier, and there will be team message boards for improved communication and collaboration.
- A clean navigation panel will make it easy to find workload and task info, billing, analytics, and more.
- Tasks will be easy to create, search, sort, and filter by various parameters.
- Ticket summary UI will be improved, with color coding and icons to give you key information quickly. You’ll no longer have to scroll to the bottom to get to your screens and filters; instead, the quick search option will make it easy to find the ticket you’re looking for.
- The two main ticket actions — “assign/unassign” and “move to folder” — will be positioned front and center. Each action has been simplified into a single step and reorganized with easy search functions.
- The advanced ticket search feature will make it easier to add specific search criteria, and you’ll be able to save those criteria to make repeat searches faster and easier.
- Screen selection will do away with endless scrolling and replace it with “favorite” filters and search functionality to put your most-used screens at your fingertips.
- Improved screen summary navigation will prevent you from getting lost while looking for users or clients. Rather than jumping from screen to screen, you’ll be able to peruse screens inline without losing your place if you pick the wrong one. You’ll also be able to add and reorder fields in one popover. And if you need to create a new screen, the app will guide you through each step to make it as useful as possible.
- Filter summary will also be easier to navigate. You’ll be able to edit filters in a popup so you don’t lose track of where you are.
- Attachment listing will be improved with a thumbnail view that makes it easier to find what you’re looking for. You’ll be able to click the attachment to take a closer look in a popup with key information listed on the right.
- The Details view will be redesigned to make it easier to find the information and actions you use the most. That includes a collapsable navigation column that can give those details more screen space and make them easier to read, as well as easy-to-use “quick response” and “more actions” dropdowns.
- Recommended actions will be easier to apply. In the Auto Process Recommendation popup, simply select the action you want to take and hit “Apply.”
Plus, the overhauled Details navigation column will include:
- A clean General Info screen
- Quick access to relevant Links
- A new sortable Notes view
- A cleaner History view with simplified filter settings
- A Related Items view separate from a more convenient and useful ticket Versions view
- An improved Attachments view with thumbnails
- Same and Adjacent Address views that allow you to apply quick actions based on location
